Nellore, Apr 09: Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL), a flagship asset of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), achieved the historic milestone of 59.22 MMT in the FY 2025-26, registering eight percent growth in throughput over the previous year.
In addition to this, it recorded the highest monthly volume of 5.85 MMT in June 2025, a new milestone since the inception of Krishnapatnam Port. The port handled as many as 1071 vessels and record cargo of 59.22 MT with customer focus approach, operational excellence, infrastructure strength, technology adoption, and seamless coordination.
The Adani Krishnapatnam port had also diversified its cargo by adding new ones such as Laterite, Soda ash, Rock Phosphate and Yellow peas. The landmark achieved with the higher berth occupancy, seamless vessel operations supported by strong safety and emergency response mechanism. The port optimized its capability to handle five deep draft Cape size vessels simultaneously which is highest in India, thus maximizing parcel size and efficiency.
The best practices ensured there was an improvement in operational efficiency by reduction in turnaround time, berth delay and improved productivity indicators leading faster vessel handling and higher throughput making AKPL as the most preferred port in this region. As part of the capacity augmentation initiatives, improving storage facilities and road connectivity facilities for smooth cargo evacuation and higher capacity utilization.
Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited management, credited the team effort for achieving the milestones. The port has always been focusing on faster cargo evacuation which helps clients to receive timely dispatch. On Rail front, AKPL dispatched 6006 rakes which are highest since inception of the port.
