Hyderabad, Jan 05: Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre (NHCC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Kumar Chinnasamy as its new Director of Engineering, strengthening the property’s leadership team as it continues to set benchmarks in luxury hospitality and the MICE segment.

With over a decade of experience in hotel engineering and technical operations, Mr. Chinnasamy brings extensive expertise in preventive maintenance, energy management, sustainability initiatives, and large-scale infrastructure operations across upscale and luxury hospitality environments. Known for his hands-on leadership approach, he has successfully managed complex engineering functions while ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and enhanced guest comfort.
Prior to joining NHCC, Mr. Chinnasamy held senior engineering leadership roles with leading hospitality brands, including Accor Hotels and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Group), where he played a key role in ensuring seamless operations across large-format hotels and high-value hospitality assets.
In his new role, Mr. Chinnasamy will oversee the engineering and maintenance operations of both Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). His focus will include strengthening asset lifecycle management, driving energy optimisation, advancing sustainability initiatives, and supporting long-term operational excellence.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Kumar Chinnasamy said,

Mr. Chinnasamy’s appointment underscores NHCC’s continued focus on operational excellence and sustainable hospitality, as the property reinforces its leadership position in Hyderabad’s luxury and MICE landscape.
As part of its sustainability commitment, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and Hyderabad International Convention Centre have implemented a state-of-the-art solar energy system, comprising 1,818 panels with a total capacity of 1,000 KWp. The system generates approximately 1.46 million units of renewable energy annually, meeting nearly 50% of HICC’s energy requirements and reducing CO₂ emissions by over 1,000 tonnes per year, further reinforcing NHCC’s role as a benchmark for responsible hospitality in the region.
